“A pintura é a expressão exterior de um conteúdo interior”,
com esta frase Kandiskij sintetiza o que acreditava ser a atitude de um pintor.
Gosto muito desta frase porque pode ser também adaptada a um escritor, que
troca a tela por uma folha branca... ou em tempos modernos um documento Word.
Com este artigo queria partilhar algumas das impressões e
sensações que têm despertado em mim durante a minha estadia em terras lusas.
O que me surpreendeu mais, sem dúvida, é o nível de
integração da população. Especialmente tendo em conta os níveis de intolerância
crescentes em Itália, fiquei muito surpreendido pela positiva quando verifiquei
que em Portugal populações de diferentes cores, grupos étnicos, línguas e
religiões convivem num ambiente pacífico.
Outro aspecto que me despertou muita atenção foi o espírito
de solidariedade presente entre as crianças do Bairro do Esteval (onde
morarmos): as mais crescidas ajudam as mais novas, a divisão dos bens entre
todos, o convívio constante e a união – em tempos onde nos encontramos numa
sociedade dominada pelas redes sociais é muito raro encontrar algo assim.
Relembra-me os livros de Pasolini e Edward Bunker que, embora, numa realidade cultural
e contexto diferente, contavam como era a vida na rua.
Por fim, e regressando ao tema da pintura, gostaria de falar
das cores deste país... Diferentes tonalidades de todas as cores, que se
misturam criando pinturas de cortar a respiração... principalmente os
pores-do-sol! A parte do dia que mais gosto é observar o pôr-do-sol da janela
da cozinha, ver o sol a iluminar o bairro uma última vez antes de desaparecer
lentamente por detrás dos prédios.

With this
thought Kandiskij has synthesized what he believed to be the attitude of the
painter.
I really
like this phrase because it can be adapted to the writer, exchanging the canvas
for the sheet of paper or, in modern times, with a word document.
In fact,
with this article I intend to express some of the impressions that have been
aroused in me during this stay in Lusitania.
Certainly,
what struck me most was undoubtedly the level of integration among the
population. Especially when we look at the level of intolerance in Italy, I was
pleasantly surprised to see that in Portugal there is a peaceful and colourful
population of ethnic groups, languages and religions.
Another
aspect that has deeply aroused my attention is the spirit of solidarity present
among the children of Bairro do Esteval (where we live): the older ones who
help the younger ones, the compartment of each good, living the neighborhood
always together, for the times in which we find ourselves living dominated by
social media is something quite rare and refers my thoughts to the books of
Pasolini and Edward Bunker that, although in different cultural contexts, told
the life on the street.
Finally, to
return to the theme of painting, I would like to dwell on the colours of this
country.
Continuous
shades of all the shades that blend together giving, especially in sunsets,
breath taking paintings...
A moment
that I appreciate a lot of the day is just watching the sunsets from the window
of the kitchen, with the sun radiating for the last time the neighbourhood and
then falls asleep, slowly, disappearing behind the buildings.
