Testemunho SVE (3ªTemporada): Vive o desporto!

Estou a escrever este artigo para sublinhar um aspecto cultural que me tem fascinado em Portugal, e que tenho tido oportunidade de experienciar em primeira mão no Montijo – a atenção que o desporto recebe por promover o desenvolvimento dos jovens.

Reparei que, desde a infância, as crianças em Portugal por hábito praticam desporto e que também nas escolas este aspecto é valorizado.

A atitude desportiva surpreendeu-me muito pela positiva, principalmente comparando-a com Itália onde pelo contrário cada vez mais a prática desportiva perde força no sistema educativo.

Pratiquei desporto desde criança, e cresci no seio de uma família com grande tradição desportiva, por isso considero o desporto tão fundamental, especialmente no que diz respeito aos jovens.

Acredito firmemente que uma boa educação e desporto ensinam às crianças valores e princípios fundamentais que farão parte do seu carácter para sempre.

Graças ao desporto um jovem tem oportunidade de socializar, adquirir uma melhor noção de si mesmo, aprender a importância da solidariedade com os seus parceiros, trabalhar em equipa para atingir um objectivo comum, aprender a lidar com adversidades (como derrotas), etc.

Para mim o desporto é uma parte muito importante da vida de uma pessoa, pois para além de todas estas aprendizagens que podem ser feitas tem um alto valor de entretenimento, e é isso que tenho vivenciado no Montijo. Aqui tive o prazer de descobrir como o basketball apaixona tantas raparigas e como jogam com tanta esperteza. Estou muito feliz de ter a oportunidade de jogar com elas. Queria reforçar este aspecto porque ainda hoje, apesar de estarmos em 2018, muitas vezes se acredita que o desporto, principalmente desportos de contacto, são destinados exclusivamente aos homem.

Em conclusão, gosto muito to sistema português por dar muita visibilidade, e mais importante ainda, por investir na prática desportiva para a juventude e, como Italiano, gostaria que no meu país estivéssemos mais perto deste modelo.

Live the sport!

I am writing this article to underline a cultural aspect that has positively amazed me about Portugal and that I saw first-hand in Montijo.

This is the attention that is paid to sport for the benefit of young people.

I have noticed, in fact, that since childhood, young people in Portugal are initiated to practice sport and that in schools a lot of attention is paid to this fundamental.

This sporting attitude surprised me positively, especially when compared to Italy, where, on the contrary, the weight that is given to the educational level of sport in the school system is constantly worsening.

I have always practiced sport since I was a child and I come from a family with a good sporting tradition, for this reason I have always considered this fundamental component, especially when you are "young".

I firmly believe that sport, as well as good education, teaches children values and principles that will then be part of their cultural background forever.

Thanks to sport a boy learns to socialize, acquires greater awareness in itself, learns the importance of solidarity with his companions and the fact of having to "play as a team" to achieve a goal, understands that you can not always win, but that sometimes you lose, and will learn the value of defeat, which will lead him to engage more next time.

I think that sport is a very important component in a person's life, also because in addition to teaching these values entertains the boys, which is the fundamental aspect.

I want to emphasize, moreover, as in Montijo I had the pleasure to discover how the basketball appassions so many girls really smart and I'm very happy to be able to play with them.

I say this because even today, in 2019, too often it is believed that sport, especially contact sport, is the exclusive prerogative of men, not considering women to be up to it.

In conclusion, I really appreciate the Portuguese school system that gives a lot of visibility and, even more importantly, INVEST in the sports education of their children, believing as an Italian, to have to look more closely at this model.
