Testemunho SVE (3ªTemporada): Um trabalho difícil

Note: English version below.

A difficult job

A week ago we started an activity of presentation of the EVS program at the high school Jorge Peixinho of Monitjo.

Our meeting, which lasts about 50 minutes, takes place during the hour of Spanish, and takes place in the same language, with the intention of encouraging the teens to strive to speak it, winning a little 'shyness.

We received a lot of enthusiasm during our meetings, which is not a foregone conclusion given the young age of the students.
In this regard, I would like to dwell on the figure of the professor, very often relegated to the background and erroneously neglected.

The professor plays a fundamental role in a kid’s school career: not only does he have the very difficult task of assessing, as objectively as possible, his work, but he also has the equally arduous task of disciplining it and, at the same time, spurring him to take an interest in the world around him.

That is why I would like to highlight the work done by the Spanish teachers, who have always shown the utmost availability to us and have provided all the assistance and help necessary to carry out our presentation.

All too often, because of the failure or lack of commitment of their children, teachers are accused, without ever emphasising enough how, on the contrary, their task is extremely complex.
I would like to end with a “mea culpa” for having literally made my teachers admit when I was in middle school or high school, having only now understood how difficult their job is and how much effort is needed.

Michele
