Testemunho SVE (3ªTemporada): Intervalo - Porto

Note: English version below

Break: Porto

A comma, a semicolon, the two points are grammatical symbols that represent a pause within a speech, allowing the narrator to stop for a moment and catch his breath.

Porto represented exactly this: a moment of pause from everyday life, of total detachment from the images of every day.

I went to Porto with Alan taking advantage of the long weekend for the feast of the dead. We arrived wrapped in a cloak of thin fog that held the city in a timid embrace.

Our house, rented on Airbnb, immediately proved to be a comfortable refuge: an elegant loft located a quarter of an hour walk from the center, with every comfort to which, at least personally, I had not been accustomed for a while.

During our stay we had the opportunity to walk around the city, visiting the major tourist destinations, from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Serravales to the Tower of Clerigos, getting lost in the characteristic alleys of Riberinha and strolling carefree through the pier that cuts the city in two.

A city surrounded by greenery thanks to the presence of numerous parks, with a varied identity and constantly evolving.

I love Lisbon, but probably if I had to make a choice of life, I would choose Porto because it gave me the idea of a modern city that has managed to keep intact its ancient traditions.

However, as after the interruption for a comma, a semicolon or two points the speech resumes, I too immerse myself again in the present, with a sweet memory imprinted in the mind.
